# Making VSCode your only development environment with Docker and Kubernetes

Ever thought about never having to leave your favorite editor to develop native Kubernetes applications? What if I told you this is possible, and very easy?

On October 3rd, I participated in **BrazilJS.live()**, a completely online event organized by the well-known BrazilJS team!

That day I decided to be a bit more bold and bring you a completely hands-on talk about how we can transform our favorite editor, [**VSCode**](https://code.visualstudio.com/?WT.mc_id=personal-blog-ludossan), into your only development environment when working with **[Azure](https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/), [Docker](https://docs.microsoft.com/dotnet/architecture/microservices/container-docker-introduction/docker-defined?WT.mc_id=personal-blog-ludossan), and [Kubernetes](https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/aks/?WT.mc_id=personal-blog-ludossan)**.

In this roughly 30-minute talk, I open my [VSCode](https://code.visualstudio.com/?WT.mc_id=personal-blog-ludossan) and show the amazing [Docker](https://docs.microsoft.com/dotnet/architecture/microservices/container-docker-introduction/docker-defined?WT.mc_id=personal-blog-ludossan) and [Kubernetes](https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/aks/?WT.mc_id=personal-blog-ludossan) extensions that allow you to do complete management of any [Kubernetes](https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/aks/?WT.mc_id=personal-blog-ludossan) cluster directly from within the editor, and on top of that, we also have the ability to make any modifications and manipulate [Docker](https://docs.microsoft.com/dotnet/architecture/microservices/container-docker-introduction/docker-defined?WT.mc_id=personal-blog-ludossan) itself directly from within [Code](https://code.visualstudio.com/?WT.mc_id=personal-blog-ludossan)!
